HUSKY 4 Immigrants
HUSKY 4 Immigrants are a coalition of immigrant rights organizers, community leaders, healthcare providers, faith leaders fighting for policies that expand HUSKY healthcare access to all immigrants regardless of status. Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for AccessHealthCT plans, as well as Medicaid, Medicare, and other state and federal programs, and are often denied coverage by private insurers.
Despite paying taxes, undocumented immigrants do not have access to programs their taxes fund – including the HUSKY program. In 2018, undocumented immigrants in Connecticut paid $335.4 million in federal taxes and $197.4 million in state and local taxes.
